Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in a culture of professionalism and verbal community free of distractions that might take away from the treatment of clients
- Build rapport with each student, creating and maintaining motivation
- Implements skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming with students
- Makes and maintains materials for instructional and treatment programs
- Records and graphs data (both digital and paper) for behavior reduction and skill acquisition programming and records data in program books for record-keeping
- Effectively implements crisis and physical intervention procedures
- Assists and/or implements daily hygiene and toileting programs for students when appropriate
- Communicates appropriately with parents via go home notes or at the vehicle (using correct behavioral terminology and free from mentalism)
- Able to complete SAMS and BRMS on time with appropriate materials and highlighted areas for review by senior-level staff
Essential Qualifications:
- BA - Human Services field preferred
- Knowledge of behavioral principles and instructional strategies based on behavior analysis
- Knowledge of typical child development (developmental milestones and social/emotional development)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Can handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to exercise independent judgment and support program philosophy
- Able to take direction from supervisors and demonstrate appropriate change
- Able to work cooperatively within a team
- Relates well to parents and students in an appropriate manner while following ethical code of conduct
- Computer literate
- Demonstrate dedication to and investment in student progress
